Vincent De Paul in concert with Dinesh Subasinghe on 4th of November 2012 at British School Auditorium colombo









































































































Vincent de Paul Peiris, a gifted singer who rendered his voice to some of the evergreen hits like ‘Siripade Samanala Kanda Pene’ and ‘Bicycale Bicycale’,Awile samada,Dumriya(Mahajana sewaya)  will return to perform a musical evening at 6.30 pm on Sunday, November 4 at the British School Auditorium, Colombo 8.
The most significant feature of this show is that Vincent will entertain his fans together with his children, grand children and great grand children on the same stage.
‘Siripade’, the musical evening will be performed by Vincent’s son and daughter Illonka, Anil, grand children Peshani, Amalika, Duwaine, Anarkalie, Lakindu, Shenal, Shion and Shioni and great grandchildren Ayani, Senuja, Deandra and Devorah.
The show will be compeered by Vijaya Corea and Hemanalin Karunarathna while talented musician Dinesh Subasinghe is to handle the music with his Orchestra

.Dinesh Subasinghe composed the first ever Buddhist Oratorio, written with the western oratorio traditions. He composed a Symphony, trio, sonata, two A Capella pieces and one Oratorio based on the Buddha's story, a String Quartet, a concerto for trumpet and a piece for viola (The Dance of Salome).
Vincent a singing legend made his first appearance on stage singing in all three languages at a concert organized in aid of the war effort on December 15, 1940. There he had entertained Lord Louis Mountbatten and soldiers with his voice and a solo rendition on the Hawaiian guitar. He then joined then Radio Ceylon in 1949, Vincent was the only person to host two programmes, western and oriental. Vincent’s ability to yodel and sing western classics earned him the moniker ‘The Gay Yodeler’.
With the aim to render original Sri Lankan songs at a time when the identity of Sri Lankan music was being experimented, Vincent opted to become an oriental singer when Radio Ceylon granted him the option of hosting either western or oriental musical programmes.

He has composed music for 40 Srilankan TV series, eight movies and sixteen stage plays etc.
He has introduced Ancient Music  Instrument Ravanahatha  which belongs to king Ravana  Era and Indian Folk Music to Sri Lankan electronic media for the first time.This Instrument defined as one of the oldest String Instruments in the world,
Dinesh won Best Music Director at the 2009 Sri Lankan Signies Awards, formally known as the Ocic Awards,  for a television version of Mark Twain's Tom SawyerSrilankan version 'siri sirimal'. He released four Audio cds (Rawan Nada, Feel My Heart, Sihina Wasantayak, The Buddha). He was a member of the South Indian Cinema Musicians Union. Dinesh contributed his instrumental talent to seventy local and international music directors and composers, and he played for the Symphony of srilanka  from 2003 to 2005. He contributed a pivotal role to Sri Lankan movies and TV series music by combining world music genres and Sri Lankan music. Dinesh is a dynamic orchestrator and he brought a new background musical sound to the Srilankan music,
Dinesh Subasinghe is a well known figure in music of srilanka and one of the youngest  who has written music for classical,commercial and Religious music works and Dinesh became the first srilankan student of well known world composer A.R.Rahman
